NO. 1: STEVE JANASZAK, G - An investment manager who lives in Babylon, Steve Janaszak was the only player on the 1980 team not to see any action, but he said this past week, “I had the best seat in the house at the greatest sporting event of the 20th century.” Janaszak (pictured here in the background) played three games in the NHL for the North Stars and Rockies.
NO. 3: KEN MORROW, D-Ken Morrow lives in Kansas City, and is the director of professional scouting for the 4-time Stanley Cup champion New York Islanders,
NO. 5: MIKE RAMSEY, D-Mike Ramsey played for the Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Detroit Red Wings. He was also an assistant coach for the Buffalo Sabres and Minnesota North Stars. He is now retired and lives in Minnesota.
NO. 6: BILL BAKER, D - Bill Baker continued his hockey career by playing for the Montreal Canadiens, Colorado Rockies, St. Louis Blues, New York Rangers, the Tulsa Oilers, and the 1981 Team USA in the Ice Hockey World Championship and the 1981 Canada Cup. He is an oral surgeon in Minnesota.
NO. 8: DAVE SILK, RW - Dave Silk is an investment manager in Boston. Silk (pictured above at far right) played with the New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings and Winnipeg Jets and was an assistant coach at Boston University.
NO. 9: NEAL BROTEN, C - Neal Broten is a retired horse farm operator in River Falls, Wisconsin. He played for Team USA in the 1981 Canada Cup, 1984 Canada Cup, and 1990 Ice Hockey World Championship. Broten also played for the Dallas Stars and the New Jersey Devils, with whom he won a Stanley Cup in 1995, and for the Berlin-based BSC Preussen team.
NO. 10: MARK JOHNSON, C - Mark Johnson coaches the University of Wisconsin women’s hockey team. He played in the NHL with the Pittsburgh Penguins, North Stars, Hartford Whalers, St. Louis Blues and New Jersey Devils. Coached the United States women’s hockey team to the silver medal in the 2010 Olympics.
NO. 11: STEVE CHRISTOFF, C - Christoff played for the Minnesota North Stars, Calgary Flames, Los Angeles Kings, and the 1981 Team USA in the Canada Cup tournament. He is now a pilot for Endeavor Air, based in Minneapolis.
NO. 15: MARK WELLS, C - Mark Wells has developed a degenerative spinal disease that has required numerous procedures. His home is in St. Clair Shores, Michigan
NO. 16: MARK PAVELICH, C - Mark Pavelich retired from his hockey career after playing for the New York Rangers and Minnesota North Stars under Herb Brooks, and became a land developer in Minnesota
NO. 17: JACK O'CALLAHAN, D - Jack O’Callahan continued his hockey career by playing for the Chicago Blackhawks and the New Jersey Devils from 1982-1989. He now is an investment broker in Chicago.
NO. 19: ERIC STROBEL, RW - Eric Strobel retired from hockey after breaking his ankle. He became a telephone sales executive in Apple Valley, Minnesota.
NO. 20: BOB SUTER, D - Bob Suter was the operator of a Wisconsin sports store, but died of a heart attack at age 57 on September 9th, 2014.
NO. 21: MIKE ERUZIONE, LW - Mike Eruzione continued in his hockey career to become a broadcaster for the New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils. He has since become a motivational speaker and an outreach director at Boston University, his Alma Mater.
NO. 23: DAVE CHRISTIAN, D - Dave Christian played for the Winnipeg Jets, Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins, St. Louis Blues, Chicago Blackhawks, Indianapolis Ice, and Minnesota Moose. Christian now works for a residential glass manufacturer in Minnesota.
NO. 24: ROB MCCLANAHAN, LW - Rob McClanahan is managing director and head of institutional trading at ThinkEquity Partners in Minnesota. McClanahan played for the New York Rangers — coached by Herb Brooks — in 1984.
NO. 25: BUZZ SCHNEIDER, LW - Schneider became a real estate broker in Minnesota after playing professionally in Switzerland. He is pictured at left above.
NO. 27: PHIL VERCHOTA, LW - Phil Verchota played hockey in Finland after the Olympics, and returned to the American Olympic team in 1984. He is a senior vice president of First American Bank in Willmar, Minnesota.
NO. 28: JOHN HARRINGTON, RW - John Harrington played minor-league hockey after the Olympics, and was on the 1984 Olympic hockey team. He is now a scout for the Colorado Avalanche and lives in Minnesota.
NO. 30: JIM CRAIG, G - After the Olympics, Jim Craig played briefly for the Calgary Flames, Boston Bruins and Minnesota North Stars. He has since become a motivational speaker based in Boston.
HERB BROOKS, Head coach - After the Olympics, Herb Brooks coached multiple hockey teams, including the New York Rangers, Minnesota North Stars, New Jersey Devils, and Pittsburgh Penguins. Brooks also coached the French Olympic team in 1998 and the silver medal winning 2002 U.S. team. Brooks died at the age of 66 as a result of a car crash on August 11th, 2003.
CRAIG PATRICK, Assistant coach - Craig Patrick continued his hockey career by managing and coaching the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins. Under his leadership, the Penguins won two Stanley Cups in 1991 and 1992.In 2005, he drafted 18-year-old phenom Sidney Crosby, who plays for the Penguins and the Canadian National Men's Hockey Team.
